Tequilaland is a small but efficient family business with German-Mexican roots.  We, Karla Galvan de Osterkrüger and Jörg Osterkrüger, manage our business out of conviction and joy for Tequila, Mexican culture and its people to which we are in close relationship.

We work in a Professional way although we don’t have a huge net of international sales personnel. Our simple organisation structure enables us to offer reasonable prices and deliver promptly.

We started our business in 2001. When we came back to live in Germany after many years in Mexico, we realized it was hard to get a good 100% Agave Tequila and furthermore really expensive.  

In December 2001 we flew to Guadalajara in search of a partner who would support our idea to import good quality Tequila in Germany and be able to still offer it at reasonable prices in the market. 

In 2002 began our ideas turning to facts and we started with the exclusive distribution of Tequilas from the company „Tequilas del Señor“ with the full support of its owner Don Manuel García.

The start was hard, especially due to the existing exchange rate Euro/USD at that time (1 Euro = 0,85 USD). This had a negative impact on the price of our Tequila products. Since most of the Tequila produced is exported to the USA and the trading price is usually in USD.

Nowadays the 100% Agave Tequila brands: Herencia de Plata, Reserva del Señor, Herencia Histórico and Tequila Sombrero Negro are very well known in the spirits market in Germany as well as in many European and Asiatic countries. Experts in the branch appreciate our Tequilas and sales are rising constantly.

Most of our Tequilas have won numerous prices and they are also referred to as Premium or Ultra-Premium Tequilas

Since March 2008 we have made our product-portfolio wider. We offer in Germany as well as in other European countries high quality Tequilas from six different producers. We distribute with exclusive rights all over Germany and some European countries.

We distribute exclusively Tequila Chinaco as of May 2008 in the whole European Union and other European countries.

The Company Tequilera La Gonzaleña (Chinaco) is a small producer from Tamaulipas, with an extraordinary history and outstanding Tequilas. It is Mr. Gonzales to thank that nowadays other states of Mexico other than Jalisco are given the license to have Blue Agave Tequilana Weber plantations from which Tequila is produced. Tequila Chinaco is a Top-Tequila in the US and is considered among the Ultra Premium Tequilas.

Our main market is beverage and spirits retailers, wholesaler, specialized spirits shops including online-shops as well as restaurants in Germany.  

We distribute to importers and to spirit producers in all Europe taking in consideration the existing regional exclusive contracts closed by the producer.

Non of our Tequilas are either „Non Mexican Products“  or cheap Labels, which are imported in big volumes in containers to Germany for then being dissolved with something else and bottled.

Even Tequila Mixto, also our Sombrero Negro + El Charro „Classic“ are high quality spirits. Our Tequila Sombrero Negro won many prices, e.g. from the Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago.

We care a lot of what quality concerns thus we will not offer you the cheapest Tequila Mixto.  Our main interested is not to win a share of market by offering cheapest product and low quality – we work high quality only.

One of our main goals is to establish constantly and continuously a quality Tequila in the German + European market at competitive prices.

Barkeepers and even spirit producers are quite convinced of the quality of our Tequila Mixto Sombrero Negro and El Charro Classic to obtain outstanding Cocktails.

Some Cocktails as well as the right now very “in” spirit Zekilla from the cocktail producer easy drinks GmbH (Market leader for pre-mix-cocktails) are produced with our Tequila Sombrero Negro.
